Passport

Your passport must be valid for 6 months after your return date.
If you are traveling with minors, they too must have an individual valid passport for the Maldives visa.

Maldives Visa

The Maldives tourist visa is free of charge for a trip to the Maldives lasting less than 30 days. The Maldives visa is issued directly at Male airport on the day of arrival.

IMUGA Travel Declaration

Travellers must complete an online travel declaration form no earlier than 96 hours before arrival and departure:

https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv/traveller

This is an information document on travel and the health of the tourist, filled in and submitted by the tourist on the basis of a questionnaire.

WHERE AND WHEN TO COMPLETE IT
The travel declaration must be completed within 96 hours prior to departure to the Maldives. After completing the declaration, the tourist will be issued QR Code, which must be registered. This must be presented to customs when crossing the border to obtain the Maldives visa. The same form must also be completed within 96 hours of your return flight.

WHAT DATA IS CONTAINED IN THE DECLARATION
The declaration provides data on the tourist's state of health, the countries visited in the last 2 weeks, the place of stay in the Maldives (if you are staying on a cruise ship, please select "K.Male" then the name of the ship).

WHAT PHOTO TO LOAD IN THE DECLARATION
A photograph of the tourist is required in the declaration.
It is necessary to take a full-face close-up photo.
It is preferable to take a photo against a light background.
Look directly into the camera.
Make sure there are no red eyes and that no shadows fall on your face.

Photos with a hidden part of the face are not allowed, so don't wear sunglasses or cover your face with bangs that cover your eyes.
Take photos against a uniform background so that other objects don't fall into the frame.
You can take a photo yourself on your phone. The important thing is that the photo meets all the requirements.

HOW TO OBTAIN THE QR CODE
A QR Code is automatically generated when a tourist fills in the form, uploads his/her photo and confirms the trip details. The QR Code appears in the browser window. The image is saved in "png" format.

If you receive an error message after filling in the declaration, try filling in the declaration again, remembering to "clear the browser cache" so that the browser does not retain previous errors.

You can check your QR Code :

WHAT YOU MUST WRITE IN THE RESIDENCE FIELD

Minors: authorization to leave the country

A minor child living in France who travels abroad alone or unaccompanied by a parent must be in possession of an authorization to leave the country (AST). This is a form drawn up and signed by a parent (or legal guardian). The form must be accompanied by a photocopy of the signing parent's identity document.
https://www.service-public.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/F1359

A child traveling with his or her mother or father therefore does not need an authorization to leave the country.
However, if the minor and the accompanying parent have different surnames, we advise you to bring the family record book (livret de famille) or the authorization to leave the country signed by the parent with the same surname as the child.
